5 day weekend, woo hoo!

Katie was begging for some new blog posts so I decided to give into her. I just finished a lovely 5 day weekend! (Thank God for tennis districts!) It pretty much went as I suspected. My boys were out fairly quickly. They did a great job, but there were just too many players better than them. The girls also did as I suspected, and won the District tournament! Go Scotties! I am taking four girls to state next week, two singles girls and one doubles team. We actually have a great shot at winning state as a team, and for our singles to go 1/2 at state. Kind of crazy. None of it due to my coaching skills of course. Here's a couple pics of my team.



Friday night, I got to go out dancing to celebrate my friend Mike's birthday. Tara and I met up with Mike and Diane and a bunch of their friends from work and their neighborhood. We danced the night away at the Marquis. Sadly, no good looking guys came my way, but I got to burn a ton of points, and had a great time with our group. Again, some pics of our fun!




Saturday night, Katie and I went and saw Night at the Museum with our friend Kaitrin, and then got some sushi (Katie's favorite). The movie was hilarious. I'm yet again reminded of how much I love Hank Azaria. The man is too funny! It was definitely worth the $9.50 I had to pay to get into the movie. God I hate how the gouge us these days! No pics from the night. My bad.

The rest of the weekend passed pretty quietly. I watched some TV, fit in a workout, did my laundry at mom's, got some grading done, and read. Hope you all enjoyed your memorial day weekends too!

Long over due

So I realized that I really haven't blogged in quite a while. Even Katie has been more active then me. Totally unacceptable! So here's a little update on what I've been up to lately.

Seattle: Last weekend, Katie, Mom and I headed to Seattle to spend Mother's Day with our family. We saw our Uncle Raymond's apartment in downtown Seattle. He had the most amazing view of the waterfront and the Space Needle. It was a great adventure. Here are a few pics from our outing.
And one of the tulips down at Pike's Place Market. The flowers were amazing. We had a great time, marred only by the fact that my brakes weren't working so great. No worries though, we made it safely there and back!

The return home saw me dealing with my unsafe breaks on my barely four-month old car. I was not happy to say the least! I took a half-day sub to deal with getting my breaks fixed. After spending an hour and a half at the dealership, they came to tell me that my car wasn't safe to drive (a big shock that one), and that they'd arranged for a rental for me since they needed to keep it for one more day. Long story short, my car now brakes like a dream! Woo hoo. God I love warranty work!!!

Trent and Marci's wedding:
Last but not least in my week of fun, Katie and I got to see our friends Trent and Marci tie the knot. We had a lot of fun with our friends Tara and David at the reception. Enjoying a quick beer at Northern Lights Brewery (a screwdriver for me), while the church quickly changed over to the reception. Lucky for us it was right next door. The wedding was a perfect celebration of their relationship. Here's a couple pics from the reception and them leaving the festivities.

Bloomsday '09

Well, Katie, mom and I made it through Bloomsday. No pictures for me since Katie did all of the photography this time. See her blog for pics. Somehow, we managed to stay together through the whole thing...mostly by my waiting for mom and Katie every time I hit a mile marker. I tried to stay with them, but I also wanted to keep my heart rate up. I split the difference. I don't think they minded once I bought them lunch at Nordy's! We had a great time ridiculing some of the crazies that showed up for the race. Pic of the day was of a lady with an off-center rat tail (seriously, check out Katie's blog!) Hopefully, once the soreness wears off, I can convince Foy and Lavs to do it again next year!

Happy birthday Kitty!

Here's a little blog shout out to my favorite youngest sister, Katherine Ann, on her favorite day, May 4th. We started the celebrating this weekend so that she could have lots of friends for her big day. ON Saturday, we went to Raw to have sushi, the Kat's favorite. OUr firends Beth, Tara, Hilary, Colin H., and Colin D. joined us for the evening, which was followed by drinks at the Elk and then guitar hero at our apartment (pictures to come). Over all a pretty good time when you ignore the puking part from the following morning...

On Sunday, we had brunch at Cafe Marone before we jumped on the Bloomsday course for our fav Spokane event. (OK, it's my favorite event, and mom and Katie were just humoring me by coming along). For her real b-day, I'm making her dinner and doing a little living room cleaning (she'll be shocked by that).
