Sorry sports fans, I don't have much to report right now because I am in grading hell! I have been working my way through explanatory essays for the last couple weeks...roughly, 120 essays for four classes worth of English students. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I dislike grading them (they are actually pretty interesting since my students got to pick their own topics), it's just that they are taking sooo long. In my journey to being a better teacher, I decided my students should be able to resubmit papers to improve grades, which means I, in turn, have to give them feedback to help them improve their writing. Long story short, it is taking me about 30 minutes per paper to grade. I am on week three of grading. I am NOT done. Ah well, at least my students might improve their writing at the end of all this.
And no, I haven't given an A yet... I'm tough. :)
