So as most of you know, I recently took over as the nursery coordinator at my church (as if I don't have enough going on). And because I am a bit of an idiot, I decided it was time to update our not-so-beautiful room. I don't think it's been updated in a good 15-20 years, so it was time. People have been talking about doing the room for the last four years, and I decided that since I had a three day weekend, it was time to put a little
action with the conversation. The church clearly didn't know what they were doing when they asked me to take over. Here's a picture of our second nursery room which matches the one we are finishing up (I forgot to take a before picture until after we'd already pulled the lovely wallpaper). So after two days of hard work, we got to a beautifully textured and primed room (Monday night's view). We also decided it would be a great idea to a
dd in some new flooring because the carpets have seen some better days. So my friend Diane hit the phones to track down some of the kid-friendly rubberized flooring that is used for gym floors. After many attempts I finally remembered that I have this amazing Aunt Susan who does things like finding flooring materials for a living and gave her a
call. With her help, we found what we needed in mere minutes and after a call to Lowe's were directed to our favorite store for some inexpensive flooring: Costco! Of course, we found it at a price that was too cheap to pass up, and of course we hadn't thought ahead and brought two cars. Two children, three adults and 12 packages of flooring later, we were stuffed to the gills and on our w
ay back to the church. As the pictures show, breathing was a luxery, but we made it back with all the flooring you could possibly want. (Jakob and JJ, our helpful shoppers!)

So we have just a little touch up and some trim and the flooring to put down on Wednesday, and then we will have one cheerful little nursery for our kids to play in. All I have to say is thank goodness for my wonderful friends! Without them, I could have never gotten this done, and it wouldn't have been half as fun! Go team.

good work P! They are very lucky to have you as their nursery lady.
Thanks mom. There will be more pics of the fun later today, but my computer was having a hard time uploading them.
so what's up with tantalizing us with tales of all these "pictures" and then not putting them on? ;) j/k, glad to hear you've been keeping busy... but we expect blog updates more than once a week!!!
With fighting words like that, there better be a new post on your site when I go to it. :)
nice job on the nursery remodel peeps! glad you found the flooring! the vehicle reminds me of the lexus coupe trying to get the costco 60" tv in it!
It was definitely an adventure getting all that flooring in the car with all of us. Oh the fun of the nursery remodel!
