My sweet mom, knowing that I had been planning on getting one, sent me a Groupon last Friday for one of our local mattress stores. So long story short, after a trip to the Valley and enjoying trying a dozen or so style mattresses (why is it so fun to lay down on new mattresses), and the sweet support of my friend Krista who went with me on the adventure (we may have messed with the sales guy for a little bit before telling him we were friends...) I picked a lovely new Simmons Beautyrest mattress, saved $150, and waited impatiently for it to arrive.
Today was the day! While at school, my matters finally made it home from Pasco to take its place on my bed. Mom took my old mattress since it is still nicer then hers, and we donated her mattress to Sleep City's mattress recycling program which refurbishes old mattresses and donates them to women's shelters and other charitable organizations. All that's left to do...enjoy my first night's sleep. Come on bedtime! You're calling my name.
PS, I cleaned my room (all by myself- no motherly birthday present this time) to prepare for the momentous event... and to not be embarrassed at delivery time. :)
