DC or bust

After two years of planning and waiting, we are heading to Washington DC tomorrow.  Myself and 22 of Freeman's finest (National Honor Society members), 3 chaperones, 1 wife of chaperone, and Grandma Glo, Maryanna, and cousin Jan are heading on a jet plane to see our nation's capital.  I'm not going to lie.  This is probably the scariest thing I do with students, and my favorite thing I do with students.  The chances of things going really wrong on the wrong side of the country is a little intimidating.  But on the plus side, I love watching how excited they get seeing DC, seeing our government, crawling around the museums, and realizing that a 'mall' is not just a place you go to shop.  Wish me luck and pray for safe journeys.  If you want to see what we're up to, you can check out our trip blog at http://fnhsdc.blogspot.com.  I'll try to update it every night, and post some pictures.  Be on the lookout for some photos of the East Coast Longinotti's, who will be joining us on Wednesday for a tour of the Pentagon.
My partners in crime, Lindy and Brad during our last DC trip.
Alas, Lindy is staying home this year to take care of her kiddos :(

DC or bust

Hey all,
It's that time of year again: Spring Break! Next Saturday, I leave with 17 of my favorite students and a handful of adults for the glories of Washington DC.  We have 6 fun-filled days to traipse across our nation's capital.  I don't know how much time I'll have to update my blog, although I will try.  My students are going to keep a daily blog though on a blogger page I set up for the trip.  Please feel free to check it out between March 26-April 1 to see what I'm up to with the kids.  You can check it out here: http://fnhsdc.blogspot.com.  (Pictures of my students from the 2008 trip)
